Wine is a commodity with special requirements. The transport of wine is specialized, requires precision, understanding and attitude to the specifics of this product. There are special requirements for the transportation of wines established at the state level.
When transporting grapes, wine, grape and wine products, alcohol, distillates and spirits, producers, importers and traders shall draw up a model accompanying document for transport within the territory of the country or another Member State of the European Union. The accompanying document shall be drawn up on paper or in electronic form, the contents of the electronic accompanying documents and those on paper being identical and used for one carriage only.
The accompanying document contains the following data: name, address and identification code of the sender; name, address and identification code of the recipient; document number; date of issue of the document and date of dispatch, in case the latter is different from the date of issue of the document; description of the transported product according to Annex № 1; quantity of the transported product; actual alcoholic strength for wine, alcohol, distillate, spirits; total alcoholic strength - for young wines in fermentation and partially fermented grape must, and sugar content for unfermented products; performed manipulations of the transported product; density for alcoholic grape must. Each accompanying document consists of 3 identical copies under the same number and series - one original and two copies.
In case of transport, export or import of quality wine from a certain region, a copy of the certificate of origin of the quality wine shall be attached to the accompanying document. The control over the issuance of the accompanying documents and the observance of the requirements for transportation is carried out by officials authorized by the Minister of Economy and Energy, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Finance.
The transportation of wine is realized at a certain temperature regime within 11-12 ° С, using special vehicles, whose temperature losses do not exceed 2-3 ° C per day. The transport of wine by ordinary trucks is allowed only over short distances and only if the ambient temperature is close to the required one.
The wine can be transported in glass and plastic bottles, packed in boxes, in barrels. The transport of unpackaged liquid wines is carried out with the help of tank bodies equipped with thermal insulation. The specific permissible temperature range during the transport of these beverages is determined by the consignor, indicating the numbers in the relevant consignment note. Proper transportation of wine requires darkening the space of the car, the load must be protected from solar and neon radiation. An important requirement for the transportation of bottled wine is the absence of strong foreign odors. Stoppers do not guarantee 100% protection against the penetration of foreign odors into bottles of products, especially this issue is important when transporting long distances.
