What is important to do if your load is fastened damaged

What is important to do if your load is fastened damaged
The transport of goods and raw materials is a key factor for the development of the economy, but it is an extremely dynamic activity, characterized by short legal deadlines for establishing damages and shortcomings in shipments and for filing claims for damages.
Shipping and logistics companies play a role here. One of the main obligations of the logistics forwarder is to find a good transport solution for his client, but in order to find such a solution it is necessary to take into account all the features of the cargo and the time of transportation. In order for the cargo to be properly handled, loaded, unloaded and arrive at its final destination without any problems, the correct packaging and labeling of the goods applies with the same force, and the competent documentation of the goods for transport is a guarantee for the rights of shippers. But it happens - there is damage and shortages. If they are established, the preparation of a written protocol, accompanied by photographic material, is mandatory. All this is necessary for a faster investigation, closure of the case and satisfaction of claims.
What you need to do. Damage or absence is not always visible at first glance, especially if your load is larger, consisting of, for example, several pallets. Therefore, before unloading, inspect your shipment carefully for torn or deformed packaging and / or others. If you find a problem - take a picture, so you have proof that the problem occurred during transport, not during the unloading itself, which can actually performed by you or while it was stored with you. It is important to photograph the vehicle, including its registration number. It is recommended that the photos be dated and time.
The next main thing is an inventory of the damage. All damages must be described in detail in the transport document, and it is first necessary to compare the data with the loaded and actually received. Freight forwarders and carriers accept and deliver the goods as declared transport units - pallet, carton, etc. Neither shippers nor carriers have the right to check the quantity of the shipment, so if you find a damaged package with access to its contents, it is advisable to unpack it and check the contents in the presence of the carrier.
Each contract of carriage shall be proved by a written document. That is why it is important that any damage is described in writing. If this is not done in time, the responsibility will subsequently be yours and it is more difficult to prove that the damage is due to the transport and not to another circumstance. The damages are formulated as precisely as possible, and the damaged goods must be stored in the condition and on receipt until the end of the case, and of course measures are taken to prevent greater damage to it.
And don't forget - if you find an irregularity with the cargo, you need to notify your forwarder.
